ABOUT THE FILM
Kyoto: A Journey Inside is an award-winning and inspiring travel documentary. It is the first installment in a new series of travel documentary films to be produced by filmmaker Willie Grady and his production company Screenwriter601 Films. From remarkable landscapes and rich scenary to the exploration of new cultures, this film examines the hurdles of international travel. A Journey Inside looks at the differences in perception and treatment that comes with being a foriegner in a new country versus the perception and treatment recieved back at home. The film tells the story of filmmaker Willie Grady, an explorer with an open mind unafraid to embrace new societes and tackle the stereotypes and tough questions head on. It follows him and sometimes his wife and crew as they journey to locations outside of the U.S. and inside of the U.S. all the while, telling the story of their personal journey. Unlike your tradtional travel documentaries Kyoto: A Journey Inside really focuses on the journey to and within the destination and the transtional growth of the explorer rather than placing a lot of emphasis on the destination itself.
